.IT Domain Names

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific domain name extension is very popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming inventive and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to share it with associates and friends. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is connected to the information sector due to the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is recognized around the world.

Given that dot IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this top-level domain name extension, such a domain can be registered through a third-party firm, such as ours. You can grab a .IT domain for a period of 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. As there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various territories and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical regions of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion.
